On Friday, March 13, 2020 Governor Inslee announced that Washington State schools would be closed starting on March 17, 2020. They will now be closed through the end of the 2020 school year in June.
An online learning plan is in place. For more information on supports and resources visit the Spokane Public Schools website.
SPS is offering grab & go meals – a breakfast and a lunch together – for any child aged 0-18, or currently enrolled in high school, at multiple locations throughout the city. Yes, that's any student -- even those who don't attend Spokane Public Schools!
Distribution by Location
Meals are available Monday – Friday from 11 a.m. – noon at 24 sites, in addition to many locations throughout the district serviced by bus delivery. Find all the information and your closest pickup location on our website.
To support student learning for families without access to computers at home, Spokane Public Schools is checking out laptops to our students based on need and availability.
Spokane Public Schools offers a wide variety of tools for online learning via the Clever portal. Clever is a digital hub of resources that will automatically log users into most programs. Some programs will ask you to log in the first time, and Clever will do it for you after that.

Office 365 Users
Office 365 is where students and staff can access all of their saved files, the online Office Suite, Teams, email and more.
Microsoft Teams Users
Microsoft Teams is a communication and collaboration app that can be used as a virtual classroom or a work and meeting space. This is where the SPS community can chat, meet, call, and work together in one place, no matter where you are.
Teams meetings are video and/or audio chats over the web and include a chat board and other features for connecting and collaborating.
Blackboard Learn is a virtual learning environment and course management system on the web. Teachers manage assignments and classes can collaborate in one space.

Blackboard Collaborate is a web conferencing tool for virtual classrooms and online learning for students as well as professional development for staff. It offers audio/video meetings with chat and breakout room capabilities.
Zoom is a web conferencing tool for virtual meetings. It offers video and/or phone meetings over the web or with an app that includes a meeting chat.
